Over the weekend I had the urge to do some arts and crafts, and looked at my stash of what to use to create something fun. What I ended up doing was taking one of my silicone bracelets and Ive personalize my rubber bracelet to make it individual to me. A few years ago I bought a LiveStrong bracelet because I really admire Lance Armstrong and what he stands for and has accomplished. I decided I would use some of my permanent markers to make the silicone bracelet a little more attractive. It’s been a few years since I got it, and only paid a dollar for it, so I figured if I messed it up, I could just buy a new one.
I’ve personalize my rubber bracelet by drawing pictures of bicycles on it. It was incredibly fun to do, and I have to say that it turned out remarkably well. If you want to do the same to yours, all you have to do is find or buy some fine (as in point size) permanent markers, and draw a few drafts of bicycles or whatever else you want to put on it, and then use your markers to draw your final draft on the bracelet. You could also start by outlining it on the bracelet with a very light pencil so that the outline will disappear when you cover over it with the markers.
It was such an enjoyable activity, and when I wear it in public, people will see that not only do I support cancer research, but I also support bicycling. These plastic wristbands are tantamount to walking advertisements and statements about what people care for and believe in. They are inexpensive billboards, actually. I have a few ways to make extra income on the side, so I think I’ll consider customizing some blank silicone wristbands to give to customers who buy my products. After I’ve personalize my rubber bracelet, I realized the enormous potential that free advertising can be, and I’m excited to start on the project with the rubber bracelets to reward my customers.
